This July, we took a group of lucky TCS campers to Samsung 837, an experiential tech wonderland in the Meatpacking District featuring a living lab, a VR tunnel, digital art installations, and three floors of dynamic, immersive programming powered by state-of-the-art technology.
We started the day with a tour of the space, where we saw all of Samsung’s latest gadgets (including Dusty the Cleanly Robot!). We also got a peek at Samsung’s “internet of things”, crawled through the mind-boggling TV tunnel, and saw a demo of Dreamground: part physical installation, part digital immersive experience, all cutting-edge Metaverse tech.
After a lunchtime excursion to nearby floating park Little Island, we returned to Samsung, where coders (and their parents!) saw their work projected onto Samsung’s three-story screen and demo-ed their projects in Samsung’s gaming lounge.
